Audio-Technica headphones recalled due to fire risk says US Consumer Product Safety Commission

US consumer site Slashgear reported this week that a Audio-Technica headphone was recalled due to a fire risk. The risk concerns the true wireless CK3TW headphones.

“The portable charging cases can overheat, posing a fire hazard. Consumers should immediately stop using the charging cases and contact Audio-Technica for instructions on returning the charging cases for a free replacement charging case.  Audio-Technica will provide consumers with a prepaid return shipping label and will send consumers a replacement charging case upon receipt of the returned case” said the CPSC in a recent statement.

Around 7,000 units are believed to have been recalled at present and the issue is not thought to to be related to other products in the consumer or pro audio lines.
